On March 21, The Olympic Theater welcomes a special evening of tribute performances honoring two of the most influential bands of a generation.

Headlining the night is Winterland, a beloved local and regional tribute to the music of the Grateful Dead. Now appearing only occasionally as a full ensemble, Winterland brings its complete lineup to The Olympic for this rare performance. Audiences can expect faithful renditions of classic material, extended improvisation, and a set that reflects the depth and legacy of the Dead’s catalog.

Joining them is Heads In Motion, an Iowa City and Quad Cities–based tribute to Talking Heads. Known for their precise musicianship and attention to detail, the band delivers a focused and energetic performance highlighting the rhythmic and stylistic range that defined Talking Heads’ sound.

This event offers a full evening dedicated to two iconic bands, performed by respected artists from our own regional music community.
