One voice. Three instruments. A lifetime rooted in Iowa soil.
William Elliott Whitmore comes to The Olympic South Side Theater on Saturday, December 19. For more than twenty years, the Lee County songwriter has carried a banjo, guitar, and kick drum from basement rooms to Carnegie Hall, building songs steeped in work, weather, birth, death, and the hard-earned hope between them.
His current album, Silently, The Mind Breaks, is the first released on his own Whitmore Records imprint—a stark, invigorating one-man performance shaped by the same rural Iowa ground that has always held his music together. At The Olympic, that voice gets the space it deserves: raw enough to shake the walls, quiet enough to pull the whole theater close.
Linn County’s own David Lee Paul opens.
