Some catalogs carry their own weight, and Gary Richrath's guitar work still does. Richrath Project REO brings that lineage to The Olympic through musicians with a direct connection to the source, led by Michael Jahnz, who sang with Gary Richrath for more than a decade, co-wrote nearly half of Only the Strong Survive, and stood beside him well beyond the stage.

The band approaches the REO Speedwagon and Richrath songbook through proximity rather than imitation. Ridin' the Storm Out, Take It On the Run, deeper Richrath cuts, and material from Only the Strong Survive and L.A. Is Mine sit in the hands of players tied to the history they are carrying forward.

The planned bill also brings Jett Threatt, Cedar Rapids' Joan Jett & the Blackhearts tribute led by Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Karie Skogman, a local act already known to The Olympic.
